This is an exciting chance to be part of CDC Queensland on the Sunshine Coast (Kunda Park) as a Charter Manager for Queensland. CDC Queensland provides essential bus services for millions of passengers across Gladstone, Rockhampton and Yeppoon, and the Sunshine Coast.
About the role The Charter Manager drives strong bus charter performance across Queensland, ensuring the business meets stakeholder expectations. The role manages the end-to-end bus charter process—from initial enquiry through to service delivery. The role grows charter revenue by identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities, strengthening the company's position as the preferred bus transport provider in each location.
Working closely with Operations leaders, the Charter Manager supports the delivery of responsive, competitive and high-quality services.
What you'll focus on
- Develop, execute and oversee a business strategy that prioritises growth and positive customer relationships
- Build charter business opportunities and foster relationships with external stakeholders to actively seek new charter business opportunities
- Ensure short term and long-term contracts for charter transport are carried out to the highest standards and to the expectations of the client
- In consultation with the Operations Department, allocate the most suitable vehicles and drivers to charters whilst considering the resourcing needs for other operational activities
- Promote the company as the preferred charter operator in Queensland and establish the company as market leaders in the events/conference market
- Ensure all work health, safety and environmental practices and procedures are implemented during charter operations
What you'll bring to the role
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience managing passenger transport, charter, logistics, fleet and/or another high-volume service setting
- Ability to develop, execute and oversee a business strategy that prioritises growth and positive customer relationships
- Strong leadership and people management experience contributing positively to workplace culture and supporting continuous improvement.
- Adaptable and solutions-focused, with the ability to work effectively in a changing operational environment.
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, managing competing priorities and delivering responsive customer-focused support.
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with a service-oriented approach to supporting customers, employees and leaders, including ability to build and retain a high functioning team
