Chief Executive Officer - Director of Colleges

About the role

This is a significant whole-of-organisation leadership role for an educator who can move confidently between long-term strategy and disciplined implementation. The CEO will work in partnership with the Board, lead and hold campus principals and senior executives accountable, strengthen systems and culture, and build confidence among staff, families, regulators and the wider community.

Key responsibilities

- Translate the Board-approved vision and strategic plan into measurable College-wide priorities, operating plans and outcomes.

- Provide executive oversight of all campuses, setting clear expectations for principals and senior leaders and ensuring consistent standards of educational quality, student wellbeing, culture and performance.

- Lead continuous improvement in teaching, learning, curriculum, assessment, student achievement and pathways, including support for students from diverse cultural, language and learning backgrounds.

- Lead the College's Islamic ethos within strategy, leadership, pedagogy, relationships and daily operations in a manner that is authentic, educationally sound and respectful of the College community.

- Maintain effective governance, compliance, child safety, risk management, financial stewardship and workforce disciplines, with timely and reliable reporting to the Board.

- Build a high-performing and accountable leadership culture through careful recruitment, performance management, succession planning, professional growth and staff wellbeing.

- Oversee sustainable enrolment growth, resource allocation,



infrastructure planning and operational effectiveness across campuses.

- Develop trusted relationships with parents, students, staff, community leaders, Islamic scholars and organisations, government, regulators and sector partners.

- Represent AIIC with credibility in public, regulatory and community settings and protect the College's long-term reputation and social licence.

- Anticipate emerging educational, technological, demographic and regulatory developments and position the College to respond responsibly.

About you

- A recognised tertiary qualification in education, including an approved teaching qualification.

- Current registration, or immediate eligibility for registration, with the Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).

- Substantial senior executive experience leading and managing schools, with demonstrated accountability for educational performance, people, operations and organisational improvement.

- Robust and Demonstrated knowledge of Islamic educational principles, philosophy, together with the capacity to uphold and advance the College's Islamic ethos with wisdom, integrity and sound judgement.

- A strong record of community engagement and of building respectful, productive relationships with families,



culturally and linguistically diverse communities, faith leaders, government and external stakeholders.

- Direct experience working with a governing board or equivalent, including strategic planning, executive reporting, governance, risk and compliance oversight.

- Experience working in Senior Leadership in Government sector and Private sector.

- Demonstrated capability in financial management, workforce planning, Queensland industrial relations, organisational performance and the responsible stewardship of institutional resources. Postgraduate degree in Business Management or Finance preferable.

- Strong knowledge of contemporary school education, child safety, student wellbeing and the regulatory environment applying to non-state schools.

- Exceptional written and oral communication skills, personal integrity, discretion, resilience and the capacity to make fair, evidence-informed decisions under pressure.

- Current Australian work rights and the ability to satisfy all child-safety, probity and pre-employment screening requirements.

About us The Australian International Islamic College (AIIC) is seeking an accomplished educational executive to serve as Chief Executive Officer (Director of Colleges). Reporting to the Board through the Chair, the CEO will provide strategic, educational, operational and organisational leadership across the College and its campuses, ensuring that AIIC delivers excellent student outcomes while remaining faithful to its Islamic ethos, regulatory obligations and responsibilities to its communities.
