We are currently seeking a motivated and inspiring Cook/Chef to join our dynamic team in a maternity cover position

We're looking for someone who:

· Has experience working in a commercial kitchen or similar setting.

· Holds relevant food handling certificates

· Possesses a strong understanding of healthy eating principles for children.

· Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a friendly and positive attitude

· Is passionate for creating and delivering healthy, nutritious and delicious meals and menus

· Has a current Working with Children Check

· Has excellent time management and verbal communication skills

· Has experience working in a child care setting will be highly regarded,



however not necessary In this role, you will:

· Work in line with budgets and local suppliers

· Maintain a clean and safe kitchen, in accordance with the City of Joondalup requirements.

· Work in partnership with families in meeting all children's dietary requirements

· Co-ordinate the purchasing and ordering of supplies to reflect the menu

· Follow the National Quality Standards in relation to healthy eating and ensure it is promoted and appropriate for each child.

· Menu plan in accordance with Nutrition Australia

· Implement rotational menus

· Ensure that all meals prepared meet the special dietary needs of the children with allergies & cultural preferences

· Ensure safe and hygienic storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks

· Maintain positive customer relations with families and children

· Ensure adherence to the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
