Hays is partnering with a well-established not-for-profit organisation seeking a dedicated Child & Youth Counsellor to join its clinical team on a permanent basis 0.8 FTE basis. This respected organisation delivers counselling, wellbeing and community support services to children, young people and families across the Perth metropolitan area. Your new role

As a Child & Youth Counsellor, you will provide therapeutic support to children, young people and families experiencing a range of emotional, behavioural and mental health challenges. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will undertake assessments, develop therapeutic interventions and deliver evidence-based counselling services tailored to the developmental needs of young people. The role offers a diverse caseload and includes community engagement activities, school-based support, family-focused interventions and participation in youth development programs.

You will collaborate closely with families, schools and external stakeholders to support positive outcomes for young people.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a qualified Counsellor, Psychologist or Social Worker with relevant professional registration and demonstrated experience working with children, young people and families. Experience within community services, mental health, education or multidisciplinary clinical settings will be highly regarded.

To be successful, you will bring:

- Minimum three years' counselling experience within a clinical,



community or multidisciplinary environment
- Experience working with children, adolescents and families
- Strong understanding of child development, attachment and developmental wellbeing
- Experience undertaking assessments, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions
- Knowledge of evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, EMDR or similar modalities
- Strong risk assessment and case management capability
- Experience engaging and supporting parents and caregivers
- Ability to work collaboratively with schools and community stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to work within structured clinical governance and supervision frameworks
- Current WA Driving Licence and access to a vehicle
- Willingness to participate in outreach activities and occasional overnight youth programs
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice
- Additional language skills will be highly regarded.
