Oak Park Early Learning (OPEL) is a warm, welcoming early learning service committed to providing children with a nurturing environment where they can learn, grow and thrive.

We are looking for a passionate and reliable Chef to join our team and take responsibility for preparing fresh, nutritious and delicious meals for the children in our care.

About the Role

As our Childcare Chef, you will play an important role in supporting children's health and wellbeing through nutritious meals and positive food experiences.

Your responsibilities will include

- Preparing fresh, nutritious and age-appropriate meals and snacks for children
- Following our centre menu and catering for individual dietary requirements and allergies
- Ensuring meals are prepared in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen
- Completing food safety records and temperature checks
- Ordering and monitoring food supplies
- Minimising food waste where possible
- Working closely with educators and management regarding children's dietary needs
- Creating a positive and welcoming food experience for children
- Supporting the introduction of new foods and healthy eating practices

About You We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working as a Chef, preferably within an early childhood or childcare setting




- Holds a Food Safety Supervisor qualification or is willing to obtain one
- Has a strong understanding of food safety, hygiene and allergen management
- Takes pride in preparing fresh and nutritious meals
- Is organised, reliable and able to work independently
- Has excellent communication skills
- Is passionate about supporting children's health and wellbeing
- Can confidently cater for allergies, cultural dietary requirements and individual needs
- Is warm, friendly and enjoys being part of a collaborative early learning team
