Chipper & EWP Operators – Experienced Tree Workers

Chainslingers Tree Services is looking for experienced Chipper Operators and EWP Operators to join our contracting team in South Australia.

We are seeking reliable, safety-focused operators with previous experience in arboriculture and/or vegetation management. Our crews undertake tree and vegetation works across South Australia, including work around powerlines, so applicants must be confident working in this environment and hold the relevant qualifications and certifications.

About the Role

Depending on your experience and qualifications, your day-to-day duties may include:

- Operating wood chippers and associated machinery
- Operating Elevated Work Platforms (EWPs)
- Tree trimming and vegetation clearance around powerlines
- Chainsaw operation, including ground and EWP-based cutting
- Safety observing and spotting
- Completing pre-starts, risk assessments and site safety requirements
- Setting up and maintaining secure work zones
- Clearing branches, vegetation and debris from worksites
- Working effectively as part of an experienced tree crew
- Maintaining equipment and ensuring machinery is operated safely

What We're Looking For Previous industry experience is required.

Applicants should hold relevant current licences, tickets and certifications applicable to their role, particularly for vegetation management work around powerlines.

Relevant qualifications/tickets may include:

- EWP High Risk Work Licence for applicable EWP operations
- Certificate II in ESI / relevant powerline vegetation management qualifications
- Close Approach / vegetation control qualifications applicable to powerline work




- Current Chainsaw Operator certificates
- Current First Aid and CPR
- White Card
- Current Australian Driver's Licence
- MR/HR Truck Licence – highly regarded
- Chipper operation experience and relevant competency/tickets
- Previous experience working around high and/or low-voltage powerlines

You will also need a strong understanding of workplace safety, the ability to follow safe work procedures and risk assessments, and a reliable, team-focused attitude. Daily productivity targets are an important part of the role, so you will need to work efficiently alongside your crew to create smooth, well-coordinated workflows that allow these targets to be achieved safely and consistently. Pay: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour
