The Opportunity

Peabody is seeking an experienced CHPP Supervisor to join the team at our Centurion underground mine, located approximately 160 kilometres west of Mackay.

Reporting to the CHPP Manager, you will provide leadership to the CHPP operations team, ensuring the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant. You will play a critical role in achieving production, quality and safety objectives while developing a high-performing operational team.

Your Impact

- Lead and supervise the CHPP operations team, ensuring secure execution of daily activities.
- Foster a strong safety culture through effective risk management, incident investigations and corrective actions.
- Coordinate CHPP production activities to achieve throughput, yield, product quality and train loading targets.
- Manage plant breakdowns and troubleshooting activities to minimise downtime and optimise performance.
- Develop, coach and mentor team members to build capability and drive high performance.
- Ensure effective contractor management and compliance with site standards.
- Collaborate with Mining, Maintenance and Logistics teams to maximise operational efficiency.
- Monitor and manage water systems and process performance across the CHPP.
- Maintain accurate shift reports, operational records and production data within site systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant reliability, productivity and operational outcomes.

About You You are a safety-focused leader with strong operational experience and a passion for developing people, improving plant performance and delivering results.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Demonstrated CHPP operational and supervisory experience.
- Relevant trade qualification (Mechanical, Electrical or similar) highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of CHPP processes, coal preparation and production management.
- Experience leading teams within a mining, processing or heavy industrial environment.
- Proven ability to safely deliver production and quality targets.
- Strong commitment to safety and the ability to foster a positive safety culture.
- Sound knowledge of risk management and hazard identification processes.
- Demonstrated leadership,



coaching and team development capability.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Job Summary

The Supervisor Prep Plant is responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of coal preparation plant, refuse handling and storage and associated facilities including the raw coal feed and clean coal load out systems. Responsible for supervising CHPP operators to achieve daily tasks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Visibly support and champion Peabody’s Missions and Values
- Act in accordance with and adhere to Safety as a Way of Life Management System
- Plan, direct and lead the work of a crew or team
- Responsible for supervising CHPP operators
- Maintain effective communication with preparation plant personnel and mine management for operational needs, planning and resolving problems
- Remain current on new coal preparation technology and help determine if new technology can be economically justified
- Responsible for dealing with personnel matters, manpower scheduling and payroll reporting
- Coordinate operations and maintenance
- Participate in day-to-day maintenance and operations duties
- Ensure activities comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements
- Other duties as assigned by the company

EXPERIENCE

- 2 years of prep plant experience required

Physical Requirements - Surface Workplace





- Must have the ability to stand for up to 4 hours per shift
- Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles
- Must have the ability to work from elevated positions, walk/climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on/off equipment and ladders
- Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA
- Must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms/legs and good hand to eye coordination
- Must have the ability to lift/raise 10 – 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance frequently during the work shift
- Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light/dark, in and around artificial light, and in a confined work area
- Must have the ability to work various shifts (required shifts include days, evening and nights, with rotating schedules, weekends and holidays)

Physical Requirements - Underground Environment

- Must have the ability to stand for prolonged periods of time on uneven, rocky surfaces for up to the entire length of the shift
- Must have the ability to be seated for up to 4 hours to operate equipment or vehicles
- Must have the ability to walk for up to 4 hours at a time. Will be required to walk through different sections of the mine with varying degrees of clearance and headroom
- Must have the ability to wear required protective footwear, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment as required by Company and MSHA
- Must have the ability to bend or stoop for a full work period as a result of mine height
- Must have the ability to climb up and down stairs/steps and climb on/off equipment and ladders
- Must have the ability to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions (push, pull, twist, handle), and have rapid reflex movements of the arms/legs and good hand to eye coordination
- Must have the ability to lift 25 – 50 lbs. on a frequent basis and the ability to occasionally lift items weighing up to 80 lbs.
- Must have the ability to work in extreme conditions, including but not limited to changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise from low to high decibels, varying degrees of light/dark, in and around artificial light, and in a confined work area
- Must have the ability to work various shifts (required shifts include days, evening and nights, with rotating schedules, weekends and holidays)

Physical Requirements - Office

- Must have the ability to sit for up to 8 hours
- Must be able to use a computer and communicate effectively in various forms, including email and by phone
- Must have the ability to review paper and electronic documents and complete computer entry of data from paper documents
- Must be able to find, remove and return files to/from file cabinets and discuss issues by telephone and in person
- Must be able to operate copier, fax machine, etc.
