As the Director (External Budgets), you will provide strategic leadership for TMR's external budget delivery and reporting activities. You will lead the department's State Budget processes and provide high-quality financial information and strategic advice to support departmental and whole-of-government decision-making.
Your key responsibilities will include: * managing the department's State Budget process, including financial information for strategic and operational submissions to the Cabinet Budget Review Committee, departmental Service Delivery Statements and ad hoc requests * leading external budget delivery, including Queensland Treasury requirements, deep-dive requests, FRaMES-related activities and strategic budget advice * strengthening business continuity through knowledge transfer, process documentation and cross-training * supporting improvements to financial processes and systems * providing expert advice and professionally representing TMR in liaison and negotiations with Queensland Treasury and other stakeholders * enhancing financial management capability across TMR through the development and delivery of guidelines, procedures and training.



Position details * The position reports to the Deputy Chief Finance Officer and has four direct reports. This is a flexible, temporary full-time chance for 12 months, based at 61 Mary Street, Brisbane. * Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role.
