As the Director (External Budgets), you will provide strategic leadership for TMR's external budget delivery and reporting activities. You will lead the department's State Budget processes and provide high-quality financial information and strategic advice to support departmental and whole-of-government decision-making.
Your key responsibilities will include: * managing the department's State Budget process, including financial information for strategic and operational submissions to the Cabinet Budget Review Committee, departmental Service Delivery Statements and ad hoc requests * leading external budget delivery, including Queensland Treasury requirements, deep-dive requests, FRaMES-related activities and strategic budget advice * strengthening business continuity through knowledge transfer, process documentation and cross-training * supporting improvements to financial processes and systems * providing expert advice and professionally representing TMR in liaison and negotiations with Queensland Treasury and other stakeholders * enhancing financial management capability across TMR through the development and delivery of guidelines, procedures and training.
Position details * The position reports to the Deputy Chief Finance Officer and has four direct reports. This is a flexible, temporary full-time chance for 12 months, based at 61 Mary Street, Brisbane. * Due to this role having access to sensitive data, a criminal history check will be undertaken prior to appointment to the role. Desirable qualifications and conditions * Possession of a degree or equivalent qualification in accounting, commerce or business administration is mandatory. * Professional membership of CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the National Institute of Accountants, or an overseas accounting For more information and application requirements, please see the role description.
