About the role

Contour Consulting Engineers is looking for a Civil Designer to join our Civil Design Team. The role is to be based at our North Lakes office, however our Maroochydore office is also an option. You'll work on residential, commercial and industrial subdivisions, and built-form projects across south-east Queensland, alongside senior designers and engineers at every stage of the project.

If you are not already operating at a Senior Civil Designer level, this role offers a clear career pathway. We are seeking a Civil Designer with the potential and ambition to develop into a Senior Civil Designer.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare civil designs and construction documentation for subdivision and built-form projects in 12d Model, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

- Design earthworks, roads, stormwater drainage, sewer and water reticulation to Council and Water Authority requirements.

- Work with our engineers, clients, and approval authorities to produce commercial, client-focused outcomes.

- Be involved at every stage of a project, from concept design through to construction.

- Help implement and develop the automation design tools the team is building into its day-to-day workflow.

About you

- 5+ years' experience in a similar civil design role.

- Experience on residential, commercial and industrial subdivisions, and built-form projects.

- Contemporary knowledge of earthworks, roads, stormwater, sewer and water design requirements.

- Proficiency in 12d Model, AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D.





- The communication skills to liaise with the team, senior management, and external stakeholders.

- A Diploma or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering is preferred – we place equal value on solid industry experience.

- Experience in south-east Queensland, particularly the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay, knowledge of Unitywater and Urban Utilities processes, and experience with DRAINS, MUSICX or XPSTORM would all be an advantage.
