Protech are currently seeking experienced Civil Labourers for multiple current and upcoming projects across Cairns and surrounding areas.

We are recruiting for a variety of civil construction, roadworks and local government projects, with opportunities available across different locations, rosters and project durations.

Rather than recruiting for one specific project, we are looking for experienced civil workers who can be considered across a range of opportunities based on their experience, tickets and availability.

Applicants must currently reside in Cairns or the surrounding local area.

Some projects may require night shift and/or working away from home, so flexibility will be highly regarded.

Pay rates will vary depending on the project and your experience and tickets, with rates starting from $40.00/hr + penalties.

ABOUT THE ROLE

- Multiple civil construction opportunities available
- Projects across Cairns, Wangetti Beach and surrounding areas
- Local government and civil infrastructure projects
- Casual positions with opportunities for ongoing work
- Rates starting from $40.00/hr + penalties
- Day and night shift opportunities, depending on the project
- Some projects may require working away from home
- Work with established civil construction crews
- Potential for ongoing placements across multiple projects

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Duties will vary depending on the project and may include:
- General civil labouring
- Roadworks and civil construction activities
- Site preparation and clean-up
- Assisting plant operators, trades and site personnel
- Spotting plant and equipment
- Manual handling and general labouring duties
- Traffic management duties where qualified
- Operating plant and equipment where appropriately ticketed
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment




- Following all site safety procedures and directions

TICKETS & EXPERIENCE To be considered, candidates will ideally have:
- Must currently reside in Cairns or the surrounding local area
- Previous civil construction experience
- Construction White Card
- Driver's Licence and reliable transport
- HR Licence highly regarded
- Traffic Control tickets desirable
- Plant tickets such as roller, skid steer, excavator or loader advantageous
- Flexibility to work night shift and away from home when required
- Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Reliable with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment
