Where you'll be working

Primary location is RNS Campus, required to work across NSLHD Emergency Management Office

What You'll Be Doing The Clinical Nurse Consultant Grade (CNC) Emergency Management is responsible for expert clinical, organisation, coordination, leadership and consultancy services within the area of emergency and disaster medicine.



The CNC collaborates with the hospitals and designated facilities to implement these Emergency Management Systems.

The focus of this position is to act as one of the principle agents of the NSLHD Emergency Management to implement the District Wide Program. This includes but is not limited to mass casualty incidents, bushfires, explosions, chemical, biological and radiological incidents, civil unrest and Business Continuity Management.

As a part of their role they will be instrumental in supporting the development, maintenance and evaluation of the District Response Plans. The role is also proactive in the participation in committees, state-wide meetings and other forums, liaison with the State Preparedness & Response Branch, emergency response agencies, other LHDs, private health care providers and government agencies. This interaction with agencies and health services is on a broad level that encompasses all senior clinicians and managers of the organisation and external bodies in developing resilience and disaster preparedness.

Candidates Will Need To Meet The Following Criteria

- Registered with Authority to Practice with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.



A registered nurse who has a minimum of 5 years full time post graduate experience, with at least 3 years full time equivalent experience in the Emergency, Emergency Management & Business Continuity fields. In addition the applicant must have an approved post graduate qualification relevant to the speciality and hold a Masters (pertaining to emergency / disaster management fields) or is willing to enrol and commence a Masters in the relevant speciality field within two years of the appointment.
- Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice.
- Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums and an understanding of the practice development framework.
