Infinity Pro is seeking Senior Cloud Architects / Cloud Engineers to support multiple ICT projects within a Federal Government cloud delivery environment. These positions combine enterprise Azure architecture with hands-on cloud engineering, covering cloud platform design, secure application and integration services, infrastructure automation, networking, identity and CI/CD.
Candidates may be stronger in architecture or engineering, although professionals capable of working across both areas will be particularly well suited.
The setting is predominantly Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, with a strong focus on designing secure, scalable enterprise cloud solutions and providing practical technical guidance through implementation.
Essential Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience implementing and managing enterprise cloud systems and technologies
- Strong Microsoft Azure architecture and/or engineering experience
- Experience with Azure App Services, Azure Functions and Azure Logic Apps
- Experience with Azure SQL and Azure Service Bus
- Experience with Azure API Management / APIM

- Experience with Infrastructure as Code / IaC and automated cloud deployments
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID

- Experience with cloud security, identity and Role Based Access Control / RBAC
- Experience integrating Azure solutions with third-party and enterprise systems
- Experience developing or contributing to enterprise and application-level Azure architectures
- Ability to provide technical guidance through cloud solution design and implementation
- Strong experience working within Agile multidisciplinary teams
- Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across geographically dispersed teams
- Must be able to obtain an Australian Government Baseline security clearance
Strong candidates should demonstrate genuine experience designing and/or building enterprise Azure platforms, cloud applications, integrations, security and automation. Highly regarded but not essential
- 3+ years designing and documenting architectures for large, complex enterprise environments
- Strong technical leadership across project and operational delivery
- Application and integration architecture experience
- Infrastructure platform architecture experience
- Microsoft 365 cloud architecture experience
- Experience integrating cloud solutions with Dynamics 365 CRM
- AWS and/or Google Cloud Platform experience
- Experience mentoring cloud engineers and providing architecture guidance
- Experience working within Federal Government or other large regulated enterprise environments
What you will work on
- Develop enterprise-level Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud platform architectures
- Develop high-level solution architectures for cloud-based systems
- Produce detailed technical and architecture guidance for cloud engineers
- Provide technical input into the design and build of cloud solutions
- Perform impact analysis against business and stakeholder requirements
- Design secure Azure networking, identity and access patterns
- Develop cloud integration approaches across enterprise and third-party systems
- Support Infrastructure as Code, automated testing and CI/CD deployment practices
- Work with architects, engineers, developers, analysts, testers and business stakeholders
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and government technology standards
- Support cloud platform automation and continuous delivery
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring and practical guidance across cloud initiatives
Remote working arrangements may be considered for highly suitable candidates based outside Canberra, subject to business requirements. Interstate candidates should be comfortable travelling to Canberra infrequently, approximately quarterly for several days at a time. Candidates do not need to already hold Baseline clearance. They must be able to obtain it; the buyer has confirmed the clearance can be granted during the first three months of the engagement, with the clearance application pack submitted before commencement.
The opportunity
This is a strong long-term opportunity for an experienced Azure professional who wants to work across substantial enterprise cloud initiatives rather than being restricted to a narrow infrastructure function.
The strongest candidates will combine architecture thinking with practical engineering depth — able to design Azure solutions, explain the architecture, guide engineers and understand how the platform is actually built, secured, integrated and automated.
Candidates will be assessed closely against the technical requirements, so your CV should clearly demonstrate your recent Azure architecture and/or engineering experience, including the Azure services, security, networking, automation and CI/CD technologies you have personally worked with.
