About the company
Join a well-established medical device organisation with a strong presence in the Australian spine market and a broad portfolio of innovative spinal technologies. The business combines the resources of a larger organisation with a collaborative, hands-on culture where employees are encouraged to take initiative and develop their careers.
About the opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established Spine team, providing clinical support across key hospitals throughout South Australia. You’ll work closely with spinal surgeons, theatre teams and Territory Managers to support complex spine procedures, while developing extensive knowledge across spinal implants, fixation, fusion, biologics and enabling technologies. The role offers genuine progression into either commercial sales or a senior clinical and training pathway.
Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on clinical support during spinal surgical procedures, ensuring surgeons and theatre teams have the appropriate implants, instruments and equipment available.
- Build strong relationships with spinal surgeons, theatre staff, nursing teams, sterilisation departments and other hospital stakeholders through education and clinical support.
- Work closely with Territory Managers to coordinate case coverage, workload and customer requirements across South Australia.
- Deliver product training and hospital in-services covering instrument sets, surgical techniques and the broader spine portfolio.
- Manage stocktakes, loan kits, account information and clinical records while identifying customer needs, competitive activity and potential commercial opportunities.
Skills and Experience
- Tertiary qualification or practical background providing a solid understanding of anatomy and physiology.
- Experience as a clinical specialist in theatres.
- An allied health professional such as a physiotherapist, osteopath, exercise physiologist, chiropractor, prosthetist/orthotist, or podiatrist will be equally considered.
- Previous experience within spine, orthopaedics or other implant-based specialties is advantageous.
- Strong anatomical knowledge is essential.
- Proactive, hands-on and team-focused approach, with the initiative to assist with everything from theatre support through to stock management and kit preparation.
- Comfortable working around the requirements of surgery.
