About The Role The Clinical Supervisor plays a critical role in the delivery of rehabilitation services to address offending behaviour, contributing to the creation of a safer community for all Western Australians.

The Rehabilitation and Reintegration branch (R&R;) of Corrective Services is responsible for offender rehabilitation programs and the delivery of interventions that aim to improve offenders’ lives and reduce the likelihood of future re-offending.

As a clinical leader in Offender Programs, you will work with a diverse team of clinicians, from new graduates to experienced practitioners, with a variety of professional backgrounds. You will be responsible for supporting staff in their delivery of evidence-based, therapeutic interventions to offenders in custody and in the community.

What You’ll Do

- Lead evidence based, criminogenic clinical practice within the Offender Programs team.
- Identify and resolve complex clinical issues and build clinicians’ capabilities through training, supervision and ongoing professional development activities.
- Support clinical staff to develop the highest standards of ethical, professional practice.
- Further develop your clinical skills by conducting assessments with and delivering interventions to offenders with complex needs.
- Provide expert clinical advice to the Offender Programs management team, releasing authorities and other stakeholders involved with offender management.
- Build collaborative and productive relationships across clinical, custodial and support teams within Corrective Services to deliver sustainable rehabilitation services to offenders in custody and in the community.

Suitability Requirements Through the recruitment process, we will be looking for candidates who can demonstrate skills, experience and attributes in relation to the following: Knowledge of and experience in the delivery of offender treatment programs: Demonstrated skills in applying contemporary clinical practices and principles in offender program development, delivery and evaluation, including a minimum of two years’

experience working with mandated clients in the delivery of therapeutic criminogenic group programs.

Clinical supervision: Experience in the supervision of diverse teams within a clinical program delivery setting, including monitoring and assurance of clinical documentation and service delivery standards.

Culturally responsive practice: Knowledge of cultural considerations relevant to clinical service delivery and the ability to respond to the needs of diverse populations, including the management of culturally appropriate and responsive therapeutic interventions for Aboriginal people and culturally and linguistically diverse groups.

Clinical leadership: Experience in leading and developing clinical staff, including providing clinical supervision and maintaining high standards of clinical service delivery, whilst modelling and monitoring ethical and boundaried professional engagement with clients.

Eligibility

Qualifications An accredited qualification in Psychology and general registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or an approved Social Work qualification and full membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).

Special Requirements

- Possession of a current valid ‘C’ class motor vehicle driving license.
- Business related state-wide travel may be required from time to time.
