CMI has created an exciting new opportunity for a National Operations & Project Delivery Manager (Cable) to join our team.

Reporting to the General Manager - Supplier Partnerships & Customer Projects, this newly created leadership role will be responsible for overseeing national operations, logistics, supply chain performance, and major project delivery. You will lead initiatives that optimise inventory and project execution while driving commercial performance, continuous improvement, and sustainable business outcomes.

Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will navigate complex operational challenges and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and on time.

About the Role

As the National Operations & Project Delivery Manager (Cable), you will play a key role in enhancing operational performance and delivering successful customer projects across the business.

- Leading major projects warehousing, replenishment, and logistics operations to maximise inventory accuracy, stock availability, and working capital performance.
- Identifying and implementing initiatives that improve service levels, operational efficiency, and cost performance across the supply chain.
- Managing freight providers, transport contracts, and specialised logistics requirements, including project-based and oversized freight movements.




- Overseeing the delivery of major customer projects from contract award through to completion, ensuring project objectives, timelines, and customer expectations are achieved.
- Coordinating project execution activities, including material supply, manufacturing schedules, logistics planning, and stakeholder communications.
- Supporting tender reviews, contract negotiations, operational risk assessments, and the development of commercially viable logistics solutions.
- Building and maintaining robust relationships with customers, suppliers, contractors, carriers, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitoring operational and project performance through KPI management, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leading issue resolution, risk management, and governance activities to support successful business outcomes.
- Promoting a safe, compliant, and collaborative workplace in accordance with company policies and QHSE standards.

Skills and Experiences

About you

- Minimum 10 years’

experience in logistics, warehousing, sourcing and major projects within the electrical, construction, or manufacturing industries.
- Proven success managing transport, freight and logistics operations.
- Demonstrated success in improving supply chain performance, service levels and operational efficiency.
- Demonstrated experience managing major customer projects and contractual obligations.
- Experience coordinating complex logistics and specialised freight requirements.
- Proven capability in stakeholder management across internal and external business functions.




- Experience implementing transport, logistics or supply chain technology platforms.
- Proficiency with ERP operating systems.
- Experience engaging with EPCs, Tier 1 contractors, and government procurement frameworks.
- Technical knowledge of the Electrical Industry & Electrical Cable Manufacturing.
