About the Role
We are seeking three Test Analysts with strong functional and automation testing capability to support a major digital transformation programme within a Commonwealth Government environment.
The role will combine hands-on manual testing with automated testing across Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform solutions. You will help ensure new and enhanced applications, integrations and business processes meet functional, technical and usability expectations before being released into production.
Working alongside developers, business analysts, delivery specialists and business stakeholders, you will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle. A significant component of the role will involve developing and maintaining automated regression coverage across UI and API layers and integrating automated tests into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
Contract Details
- Role: Test Analyst
- Rate: $800-$850/day + super
- Contract: 12 months, with 2 x 12-month extension options
- Start: 5 October 2026
- Location: Canberra, ACT
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid
- Hours: Up to 40 hours per week
- Checks: Baseline security clearance required
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and coordinate testing activities across multiple technology initiatives
- Review requirements and business processes to identify test conditions and potential risks
- Develop test plans, test scenarios,
test cases and supporting test documentation
- Conduct functional, system, integration, regression, UI and UAT testing
- Validate end-to-end business processes across enterprise applications
- Test Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Apps, Power Pages and Dataverse solutions
- Develop and maintain automated UI regression test suites using Playwright, Selenium, EasyRepro or similar frameworks
- Create and execute automated API and integration tests using Postman, Newman, REST Assured, Playwright API or comparable tools
- Validate APIs, authentication processes, integrations, business rules and data flows
- Support testing of Dataverse plugins, custom APIs and connected services
- Integrate automated test suites into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Monitor automated test execution and investigate failures
- Prepare test data and support test environment management
- Identify, document, prioritise and track defects through to resolution
- Conduct regression testing following defect fixes and application releases
- Work closely with developers and technical teams to investigate and resolve defects
- Maintain traceability between requirements, test coverage, execution results and defects
- Prepare testing status reports, quality metrics and delivery updates
- Contribute to improving automation frameworks, testing processes and QA practices
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, planning, refinement and retrospective sessions
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary project and delivery teams
- Adapt testing approaches across changing projects, technologies and business priorities
About You
- Demonstrated experience working as a Test Analyst, QA Analyst, Automation Tester or similar role
- Experience testing Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Microsoft Power Platform solutions, including Power Apps, Power Pages and Dataverse
- Strong understanding of functional, system, integration, regression, UI and user acceptance testing
- Proven ability to analyse requirements and translate business processes into comprehensive testing scenarios
- Hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated UI test suites using Playwright, Selenium, EasyRepro or similar frameworks
- Strong API and integration testing experience using tools such as Postman, Newman, REST Assured or Playwright API
- Experience integrating automated testing into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
- Practical knowledge of Azure DevOps, source control, defect management, test management and reporting tools
- Proficiency using Visual Studio Code or similar development environments
- Understanding of SDLC principles and Agile delivery methodologies
- Experience working collaboratively with developers, business analysts, project managers and business stakeholders
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate defects and test failures
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to document technical information clearly
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and contribute effectively within a team
- Comfortable adapting to new applications, technologies, projects and business domains
- Experience with Jira or similar test and defect management platforms will be advantageous
- ISTQB Automation Certification or a comparable testing certification will be advantageous
- Experience testing Power BI, Dataverse plugins, custom APIs, API Management policies, authentication flows or environment configuration will be advantageous
- Experience working within Australian Government or other highly regulated environments will be advantageous
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in IT, computer science or a related discipline will be advantageous
- Baseline security clearance required
- Must hold valid working rights in Australia for the duration of the engagement; sponsorship is not available, and applicants must have Australian citizenship, permanent residency or a long-term Australian working visa
