MRT Rehab is a growing, clinician-led Allied Health team supporting people to live more independently and achieve the outcomes that matter to them. We're a multidisciplinary team that includes Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and Care Coordination professionals who work together to deliver high-quality, person-centred support.

We predominantly work within the Support at Home funding stream, alongside NDIS and private clients.

About the Role As a Mid-Level Occupational Therapist at MRT, predominantly helping older adults through the Support at Home program (My Aged Care), with some work supporting NDIS participants, helping them live safely and independently in their own homes. You’ll travel to clients within approximately 30–40 minutes of your home, giving you the opportunity to build meaningful connections with the people you support.

You'll bring solid clinical reasoning, a strong person-centred approach and the confidence to work autonomously in clients' homes. You'll have the independence to manage your caseload and clinical decisions, with access to support and guidance when navigating more complex cases.

You'll work across a diverse range of clinical presentations, building your skills in equipment prescription, assistive technology, home modifications and complex case management. As part of a collaborative, clinician-led team, you’ll have the support and guidance to continue developing your clinical capability while making a meaningful difference in the lives of your clients.

What You'll Do

- Conduct functional, home and safety assessments in clients’ homes and community settings
- Assess functional capacity and recommend assistive technology, equipment and minor home modifications
- Deliver person-centred interventions to improve safety, independence and daily living skills
- Provide education on falls prevention, home safety and activities of daily living
- Work closely with clients, families, carers, suppliers and other professionals
- Manage your caseload, diary,



travel and clinical documentation
- Apply evidence-based practice and escalate complex clinical matters when required
- Work alongside Physiotherapists and the wider MRT team through supervision, team meetings and ongoing development

What You'll Bring

Essential:

- Sound foundational occupational therapy clinical knowledge and reasoning
- The ability to conduct functional, home and safety assessments independently
- An understanding of community Occupational Therapy practice, and confidence working autonomously in clients' homes
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to navigate sensitive or complex conversations
- A person-centred approach, with the ability to adapt your style to different clients, environments and circumstances
- The judgement to recognise when a case falls outside your scope, and to seek appropriate escalation or support

Desirable:

- Previous community Occupational Therapy experience
- Knowledge of Support at Home and/or NDIS funding streams
- Experience with assistive technology, equipment prescription and home modifications
- A commitment to professional development and upskilling

- Current AHPRA Registration
- Full working rights in Australia
- A National Police Check
- Current Australian Driver's Licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- First Aid and CPR Certification
