Forefront Events

Sydney

First things first. We’re looking for someone who knows how to make great content. Not someone who wants to spend their entire week writing strategies about content. Someone who wants to shoot it, edit it, write it, post it, test it and make the next piece better.

You’ll own the day-to-day social and content presence of Forefront – a fast-growing corporate events business bringing thousands of senior business and technology leaders together across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore (think Google, Adobe, PayPal, Mecca).

One day you might be filming backstage at a Sydney summit. The next, turning a brilliant speaker moment into a Reel, building a LinkedIn carousel, editing an interview, recording a podcast or finding a completely new way to show what happens at a Forefront event. If you’re constantly saving ideas on Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn thinking we could do something like that, we should probably talk.

Who are Forefront? We create B2B experiences across APAC (and we have lots of fun doing it).

That means 45+ major summits every year, hundreds of bespoke events and a lot happening behind the scenes. Our events bring together some of the region’s biggest brands and most interesting leaders across technology, finance, cyber, AI, HR, retail and more. And we think there’s a huge opportunity to tell those stories better.

That’s where you come in!

The job. You’ll be the person making Forefront look, sound and feel great online. You’ll own our social channels and turn what happens across the business into content people actually want to stop and look at.

That includes

Making content. Lots of it. Shoot and edit short-form video. Take excellent photos. Create carousels, graphics, interviews, behind-the-scenes content and social-first campaigns. You don't need a production crew to make something happen. Give you an iPhone, a good idea and 30 minutes and you're dangerous.

Owning our socials. You’ll take the lead on Forefront’s day-to-day social presence, particularly LinkedIn,

while helping us experiment with Instagram and other channels. You’ll manage the content calendar, write copy, publish, tag, engage and keep an eye on what’s working. Most importantly, you'll help us stop looking like every other B2B company on the internet.

Getting amongst our events. Some of your best content won't happen at your desk. You’ll travel to selected Forefront events around Australia and occasionally APAC to capture the moments we can't recreate afterwards – speakers backstage, packed rooms, conversations, reactions, quick interviews and everything happening around the edges. You'll work out what we need before you arrive, capture it while you're there and turn it around quickly afterwards.

Turning one moment into ten pieces of content. A great panel shouldn't disappear when the event finishes.

You'll spot the quote, clip, photo, insight or conversation worth sharing and find smart ways to reuse it across our channels.

Trying things. We don't want someone waiting for a 14-page brief. See a trend we could jump on? Tell us.

Think our event videos could be better? Show us.

Have an idea that's a little weird but might work? Even better. You'll have room to experiment, learn and help shape what Forefront content becomes.

You might be our person if...

- You’ve probably spent the last 2–4 years in content, social or digital marketing and you're ready to own something.
- You know your way around Canva and CapCut or Adobe, and you're comfortable shooting photos and video yourself.
- You understand social – particularly LinkedIn – but you're interested in what makes great content,

not just what day of the week you're supposed to post it.
- You can write. You have a good visual eye. You notice details.
- You're organised enough to run a content calendar but adaptable enough to throw it out when something better happens.
- You're happy approaching someone at an event and asking them for a 30-second interview.
- And you're the kind of person who sees a piece of content you love and immediately starts figuring out how they made it.
- Experience with paid social, WordPress, email platforms or analytics is useful. But we'd take great creative instincts, curiosity and a portfolio that makes us want to keep scrolling over knowing every marketing platform under the sun.

What this isn't. This isn't a role where you'll brief an agency to make everything for you. And it isn't a traditional corporate marketing job where every post takes three weeks and six approvals. You'll have support, but we want someone who genuinely enjoys being on the tools.

Six months from now...

- Our social channels should feel different.
- You'll have established a recognisable Forefront content style, built a rhythm around our events and created formats we can repeat and scale.
- You'll know which stories perform, which formats people engage with and where we should experiment next.
- And when something interesting happens at Forefront, the team will know exactly who to call.

A few practical things. This is a Sydney-based role with hybrid working. There will be regular travel to events around Australia and occasional trips across APAC. And because events don't always happen neatly between 9 and 5, there will occasionally be early starts or later finishes – balanced with flexibility around the role.

Want in? Send us your CV, a compelling cover letter, but please send us your work too. Your Instagram. TikTok. Portfolio. Videos. Brand account you've helped build. Something you've shot on your phone. A campaign you're proud of.
