The Content and Social Media Lead is responsible for developing and delivering content across Hays' marketing channels, including website, email, social media, campaigns and thought leadership. The role leads Hays' organic social media strategy, overseeing content planning, creation, publishing and performance to strengthen brand awareness and audience engagement.
Working closely with marketing teams and key stakeholders, you will bring campaigns and thought leadership initiatives to life through compelling storytelling and high-quality content. The role plays a key part in driving engagement, generating leads, supporting customer conversion and continuously optimising content performance through data, insights and industry best practice.
This is a full‑time permanent role based in our Hays Sydney CBD office, with flexibility to consider candidates based in Melbourne.
Key responsibilities include
- Create engaging content across web, email, social media and thought leadership channels.
- Lead Hays' organic social media strategy, content planning and publishing.
- Develop compelling content that strengthens brand awareness, engagement and campaign performance.
- Partner with stakeholders to translate insights and briefs into impactful storytelling.
- Monitor content and social performance, using data to optimise results.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities to improve audience growth and business impact.
What you'll need to succeed
- Proven experience creating content across social media, digital marketing, web and brand campaigns.
- Strong copywriting and storytelling skills, with the ability to create engaging content that drives audience engagement.
- Hands-on experience managing organic social media platforms, including content planning, publishing and performance reporting.
- Creative mindset with the ability to turn ideas, insights and briefs into compelling content.
- Experience balancing content strategy with delivery in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with social media management and project tools such as Asana, along with a data-driven approach to content optimisation.
