Are you a qualified Cook who takes pride in preparing nutritious, high-quality meals? We're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook to join our team at a welcoming aged care facility in Gordonvale, QLD.

Reporting directly to the Chef Manager, you'll play an important role in delivering delicious meals that support the health, wellbeing, and enjoyment of our residents. - Monday & Tuesday: 6:00am - 2:00pm
- Friday, Saturday & Sunday: 9:00am - 5:00pm

Skills and experience

- Previous experience in a commercial cooking role, with aged care experience highly regarded
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (desirable)
- Experience preparing large-volume meals in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Experience with stock ordering, receiving deliveries, and inventory control
- A strong understanding of food safety, HACCP, quality assurance, and workplace health and safety requirements
- A compassionate and respectful approach when interacting with residents, clients, and colleagues
- Excellent reliability, punctuality, and a positive work ethic
- Reliable transport and the ability to travel to and from the workplace independently

Key responsibilities

- Cater to the dietary needs of both low-care and high-care residents, ensuring meals are prepared to the highest standard.
- Prepare and present high-quality, nutritious meals in accordance with aged care food service standards, HACCP guidelines, and Quality Assurance procedures.
- Assist with menu planning, development,



and implementation to provide varied and enjoyable meal options.
- Prepare a range of baked goods, desserts, soups, and other menu items, demonstrating strong all-round kitchen skills.
- Produce and manage special dietary requirements, including puree, texture-modified, gluten-free, and other therapeutic diets.
- Assist with receiving and storing deliveries, maintaining accurate stock rotation and storage practices.
- Support daily kitchen cleaning and maintain a clean, safe, and organised work setting.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety, and infection control requirements at all times.
