Title: Control Systems Engineering Lead

Location: Brindabella Business Park, Canberra ACT

About The Role Leads the development and evolution of the SATCOM Control Segment by establishing the current baseline, defining future control capabilities, and shaping the transition between them.

Provides technical leadership across Control Segment engineering activities, ensuring operational needs, integration requirements, and supportability considerations are reflected in capability planning, procurement, and capability realisation.

Liaises with Capability Sponsors, operators, DDG/MPI, and other Defence stakeholders to define and manage Control Segment requirements, integration needs, and engineering work packages.

Maintains a coherent approach to sustaining, modernising,



and integrating Control Segment capabilities to support resilient and effective SATCOM operations.

Key Skills / Attributes

- Demonstrated experience managing or assuring complex ICT, command and control, or operational support systems, including applications, networks, hosting environments, interfaces, and their operational use.
- Sound understanding of Defence ICT and system integration environments, with the ability to translate user needs into requirements, acceptance criteria, and informed engineering decisions.
- Proven experience leading complex engineering activities involving multiple stakeholders, including requirements development, capability planning, technical governance, and industry engagement.
