About the role

We are Lone Star Rib House & Brews, seeking an experienced and reliable Cook / Grill Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time / part-time / casual basis at our Hallett Cove location, offering a Texan-themed dining experience with a menu featuring ribs, steaks, burgers, and more.

Key responsibilities - Cook / Grill Chef

- Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes, menus and presentation standards
- Preparing ingredients, including meat, seafood, vegetables, sauces, stocks and garnishes
- Operating grills, fryers, stovetops, ovens and other commercial kitchen equipment
- Monitoring the quality of ingredients and finished dishes
- Ensuring consistent portion sizes, flavour and presentation
- Assisting with menu preparation and the development of new dishes when required
- Managing food preparation and service during busy periods
- Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering and inventory control
- Minimising food waste and following appropriate food-storage procedures
- Maintaining a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen

About you

- A relevant commercial cookery qualification,



or at least three years of relevant commercial cooking experience
- Experience working in a busy commercial restaurant kitchen
- Sound knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety requirements
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistent quality
- Good organisational and time-management skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- The ability to work under pressure during busy service periods
- Availability to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays

- Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per annum plus superannuation
- Location: Hallett Cove, SA
