Smart Cookies Early Learning Centre is a family-owned childcare service with over 10 years of experience in early education. We provide high-quality care and learning for children aged 9 months to 6 years, guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS).
We are looking for a Cook/Educator to join our team in a permanent part time hybrid role. This is a dual role – you will prepare nutritious meals for children and also work in the classrooms as an educator.
Please note: This is not just a cook role or just an educator role – you must be willing to do both otherwise your application will not be considered.
Responsibilities
Cooking duties:
- Prepare and serve lunch and afternoon tea from a rotating menu
- Cater for allergies, intolerances and cultural requirements
- Maintain food safety and hygiene standards at all times
- Order and manage food supplies within budget
Educator duties:
- Work in the rooms as an early childhood educator
- Supervise and engage with children in daily activities
- Support staff by covering breaks when needed
- Build positive relationships with children,
families and colleagues
Requirements
- Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or working towards (essential)
- Current Working With Children Check (or willing to obtain)
- Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or hospitality/nutrition qualification
- First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to manage time well and balance both roles
- Previous experience in childcare as a cook and/or educator (highly regarded)
