St John of God Geraldton Hospital opened in 1992, our acute care facility provides comprehensive health care services in a relaxed and pleasant environment. Our 60-bed hospital features modern operating theatres, a Day Procedure Unit and medical, surgical and maternity wards. We also offer compassionate inpatient palliative care to the region.

About the role An exciting opportunity is available for a Cook (Second Cook) to join our Catering Services team on a casual basis. In this rewarding role, you will help prepare and serve nutritious, high-quality meals that support patient wellbeing and enhance the experience of patients, caregivers and visitors. Working alongside an experienced and supportive team, you will contribute to delivering excellent food services within a healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare and present nutritious meals to a high quality standard.
- Support daily food preparation and meal service operations.
- Maintain food safety, hygiene and HACCP requirements.
- Assist with stock rotation and inventory management.
- Contribute to a safe, clean and efficient kitchen environment.
- Work collaboratively with Chefs and Catering Services team members.

You are a reliable and motivated hospitality professional who takes pride in preparing quality meals and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. You enjoy working as part of a team, communicate effectively with others and are committed to providing excellent service in a busy environment. To succeed in this role, you will hold a nationally accredited Basic Food Safety Certificate and have a minimum of two years' kitchen experience.



You will bring sound cooking and food preparation skills, a strong understanding of food hygiene practices and safe work procedures, and the ability to follow established processes while prioritising tasks effectively. We can offer you

- Casual Hourly Rate: $42.27 to $43.11 per hour (inclusive of casual loading), plus 12% superannuation
