Role Description This is a full-time Cyber Security Analyst role based in Melbourne, VIC, offered on a hybrid basis with a mix of on-site and work-from-home arrangements.
The Cyber Security
Analyst will monitor security events and alerts, investigate incidents, and support 24/7 SOC operations to detect, analyze and respond to threats. Daily responsibilities include performing malware analysis, assessing application and network security controls, managing vulnerabilities, and contributing to threat hunting and incident response activities.
The role involves creating and maintaining security documentation, reports and dashboards, as well as collaborating with engineers, consultants and client stakeholders to implement security improvements. The analyst will also help evaluate new tools and automation, contribute to security best practices, and support compliance with relevant standards and frameworks.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Cybersecurity and Analytical Skills, with the ability to assess complex threat scenarios and interpret security data.
- Candidates should possess expertise in Network Security, including firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs and secure network architectures.
- Candidates should possess skills in Malware Analysis, including the ability to analyze malicious code, behavior and indicators of compromise.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in information security, computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, SSCP, CEH, OSCP, GSEC or similar are highly regarded.
- Experience working in or with SOC environments, SIEM platforms, EDR tools and cloud security solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is beneficial.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings and explain technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
