Melbourne Grammar School is seeking an educational leader to join our purpose-built middle school for boys in Years 7 and 8, as Deputy Head of Wadhurst.

Commencing in 2027, this is an outstanding opportunity for a leader to make a meaningful contribution to the development of young people during one of the most important stages of their educational journey. Working closely with the Head of Wadhurst and the Middle School Executive, you will play a key role in shaping campus culture, supporting student wellbeing, leading staff, overseeing campus operations and contributing to the strategic direction of the School.

As Deputy Head of Wadhurst, you will help create an workplace where every student is known, supported and challenged to achieve their personal best.

This is an ongoing, full-time teaching position, with the Deputy Head of Wadhurst opportunity offered as a position of responsibility with a 5 year tenure.

This opportunity will see you:

- Support student leadership, service learning and House-based initiatives that enrich the student experience.
- Play a key role in the daily leadership and operation of the Wadhurst campus, including timetabling, events and student administration.
- Build strong partnerships with students, families and staff to foster a culture of belonging, respect and high expectations.
- Support the recruitment, onboarding and professional growth of staff, contributing to a collaborative and high-performing team culture.




- Teach up to 0.5 FTE while modelling contemporary teaching practice and remaining closely connected to students' day-to-day experiences.
- Deputise for the Head of Wadhurst and contribute to the strategic direction and ongoing success of the Middle School.

About you: You will be an experienced educator and leader who:

- Demonstrates a deep understanding of the developmental needs of students in the middle years
- Has proven experience leading and supporting staff and students
- Builds strong and authentic relationships with students, families and colleagues
- Possesses highly developed organisational, communication and leadership skills
- Has the capacity to lead change and contribute to strategic initiatives
- Is committed to excellence in teaching, learning and wellbeing
- Holds current VIT registration or is eligible to obtain registration
