Design Documenter – Commercial Interiors

Aurex Group is partnering with an established commercial workplace and fit-out business to grow its Brisbane design team, with opportunities for two Design Documenters.

These roles would suit early-career design professionals with approximately 2–3 years’ industry experience who have developed a strong technical foundation and are looking to build their careers within commercial interiors and workplace design.

Working as part of an integrated design and project delivery team, you will help translate design concepts into accurate, coordinated and buildable documentation for commercial office fit-out projects.

The Role

Reporting to the Design Manager and working closely with Interior Designers, Pre-Construction and Delivery teams, you will contribute to projects from initial design development through to construction documentation and delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing coordinated drawing packages including floor plans, elevations, sections, reflected ceiling plans, joinery details and schedules
- Developing documentation from preliminary layouts through to tender and construction issue
- Producing accurate, practical and buildable documentation in Archicad
- Coordinating architectural documentation with structural, services and other consultant information
- Supporting compliance with relevant NCC, BCA, accessibility and regulatory requirements
- Reviewing drawings for accuracy, consistency and technical completeness before issue
- Maintaining drawing registers, revisions and version control across projects
- Assisting with RFIs and documentation queries during construction
- Working closely with the wider project team to resolve design and buildability issues
- Managing documentation requirements across multiple projects and deadlines
- Contributing to the ongoing improvement of drawing templates, libraries, detailing and documentation standards





About You We are looking for someone with a genuine interest in the technical and documentation side of design who wants to develop further within commercial interiors.

You will ideally bring:

- Approximately 2–3 years’ experience in architectural documentation, interior design, commercial fit-out or a related environment
- Qualifications or studies in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design, Building Design or a related discipline
- Working knowledge of Archicad
- Experience producing detailed architectural or interior documentation
- An understanding of how design documentation translates into construction
- Exposure to commercial interiors, workplace or fit-out projects would be highly regarded
- Good attention to detail and an organised approach to drawing management
- An understanding of relevant building codes and compliance requirements
- The ability to coordinate with designers, consultants and project delivery teams
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of your work
- Strong communication skills and an interest in continuing to develop technically

You do not need to be the finished product. We are particularly interested in candidates who have a strong design or architectural foundation, good documentation capability and the ambition to develop within a commercial project environment.
