Revira Care is seeking an experienced and compassionate Disability Support Worker (DSW) to provide community-based support to a 14-year-old male participant in Austral, NSW.
This is an immediate short-term opportunity for approximately two weeks, with shifts available Monday to Sunday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (6 hours per day).
The successful candidate will provide safe, respectful and engaging support focused on the participant's community access, participation, wellbeing and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 community access and support to the participant.
- Support participation in age-appropriate community activities and outings.
- Assist the participant to engage safely and positively within the community.
- Encourage independence, confidence and social participation.
- Provide appropriate supervision and maintain the participant's safety and wellbeing.
- Follow the participant's individual support plan and organisational procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the participant, family/guardian and Revira Care team.
- Maintain qualified boundaries and respect the participant's privacy and dignity.
- Complete accurate case notes, progress notes and incident reports as required.
- Identify and report any concerns relating to the participant's safety or wellbeing.
- Follow all relevant NDIS, child safety and workplace health and safety requirements.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a Disability Support Worker or in a similar support role.
- Previous experience supporting children or young people with disability is highly desirable.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) – essential.
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or ability to obtain one, as applicable.
- Relevant disability support qualifications/certifications, such as Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or equivalent.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- Ability to work independently while following support plans and organisational procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, professional, patient and compassionate approach.
- Strong commitment to child safety, safeguarding and participant rights.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Valid Australian driver's licence and reliable vehicle is highly desirable due to the community-access nature of the role.
Availability Required The successful candidate must be available for:
Monday – Sunday
9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
6 hours per day
Approximately 2 weeks – immediate start
