A Revit Draftsperson is responsible for the development and delivery of high-quality deliverables that result in successful and profitable projects.
Working across all project deliverables including predesign, schematic design, design development, construction documentation and construction administration.
Revit Draftsperson will work amongst a team, and at times lead a team through the development of project deliverables to ensure the facilitation of a project's completion; on-time, on/under budget, compliant with IA's documentation quality standards and aligning with industry compliance requirements.
It is expected that a Draftsperson will:
- have an existing and competent understanding of the National Code of Construction
- have proficient technical skillset to develop project documentation within REVIT/BIM
RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational
- Comply with IA Group operating/quality policies and procedures at all times
- Comply with IA Group CAD documentation standards at all times.
- Take an active role in managing project resourcing and time management in coordination with the team leader/director
- Proactively contribute to the curation, development, and management of the design library, and assist in building and maintaining contact relationships with industry suppliers, partners, and collaborators.
- Actively manage incoming calls / visitors, providing administration support where required by studio leaders
Clients and New Business Management
- Be seen internally and externally as a proficient design contributor.
- Attend local industry events ensuring to maintain IA Design's visibility within the local market as a workplace design leader
- Assist with the development of tender/proposal responses, submissions, and creation of their content
- When required, assist with project pitches / presentations, responsible for the articulation of design capability and deliverables.
Projects and Delivery
- Responsibility to deliver high quality projects, within the agreed time allocation ensuring profitability.
- Participate/assist with undertaking complete project briefings with the client/representative, assist with the return brief development.
- Complete efficient and accurate site audits
- Take a lead role on smaller to medium projects
- Assist with the development of schematic / space planning and associated documentation
- Create visual presentation material
- Deliver documentation packages to a standard that mitigates construction variation risks
- Assist with contract/subcontractor tender pricing processes
- Coordinate sub consultants and their deliverables
- Lead/Assist with design PCG meetings, and associated documentation/reporting
- Coordinate internal reviews of project work by Design leadership

- Support the design team with all project requirements
- Demonstrate a knowledge of the requirements of BCA/NCC, Australian Standards and Local Government/Certification bodies.
- Gain repeat business from customers through quality project delivery and relationship development
- Demonstrated understanding of project financials
- Meet and exceed the assigned Skills Matrix average level related to your .
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or an accepted alternative qualification
- Minimum of 5+ years as within a similar role
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office packages (word, excel, outlook and MS teams)
- Proficient use of Adobe Create Suite, specifically Indesign and Photoshop
- A strong use of REVIT/BIM
- A strong use of SketchUp and other rendering programmes.
- A strong knowledge of the requirements of BCA/NCC, Australian Standards and Local Government/Certification bodies
- A developing ability to manage multiple projects in a dead-line oriented environment
- Developing experience in leading, coordinating and contributing to a multi-disciplinary team both internally and externally
