The Character Group, including Character Cabinets and Stone with Character, is a well-established WA business located in the South East Perth Metro area. We specialise in producing quality cabinetry and stonework for the residential construction, private and renovation markets.

With a strong client base, established industry relationships and continued growth, we are looking for a motivated and reliable person to join our drafting team.

This is an opportunity to develop your drafting skills within a supportive team environment, with training provided for the right candidate.

About the role

Working as part of our drafting team, you will assist with the preparation and development of cabinet and/or stone drawings for residential construction projects.

Depending on your experience, your responsibilities may include:

- Preparing detailed cabinet and stone drawings from builders' plans and project information.
- Reviewing plans, dimensions and specifications to ensure accuracy.
- Working with the drafting team to identify potential issues and develop practical solutions.
- Liaising with internal teams to ensure jobs are accurately prepared for production.
- Learning and working with industry-specific drafting software and systems.
- Maintaining a high standard of accuracy, quality and attention to detail.
- Working to project deadlines while contributing to a positive team environment.

About you We are looking for someone who is keen to learn, takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a team.

The ideal candidate will have:

- Drafting experience, preferably in cabinetry,



joinery or stone benchtops. Training will be provided.
- Cabinet Vision experience is advantageous.
- Cabinet making, joinery or stone benchtop experience is advantageous.
- The ability to read and understand detailed builders' plans.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good problem-solving skills and the ability to identify potential issues.
- A willingness to learn new software, systems and processes.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work independently while contributing to a team.
- A reliable, professional and positive approach to work.
- The ability to work to deadlines in a busy production environment.

This position may suit a cabinet maker, joiner or stone benchtop tradesperson looking to transition off the tools, as well as someone with drafting experience looking to develop their skills further.
