About Roamer Brisbane

Roamer is a busy, design-led hostel in the heart of Brisbane's CBD, with a lively bar and food offering at the centre of the guest experience. We are looking for a confident, hands-on Food & Beverage Duty Manager to run the floor, lead the team and keep our venue humming.

The Role

You will take charge of the day-to-day running of our bar and food service, leading shifts from open to close. This is a hands-on floor role, so you will be pouring, serving and clearing alongside your team while managing service, driving sales and making sure every guest has a outstanding time. You will hold the standard, keep the venue compliant and step up as the person in charge on shift.

What You'll Do

- Run F&B; shifts from open to close as the manager on duty
- Lead, motivate and support bar and floor staff during service
- Deliver fast, friendly service and step in wherever the team needs you
- Drive bar and food sales, promotions, upsells and event nights
- Manage cash handling, tills, end-of-shift reconciliation and reporting
- Control stock, ordering, wastage and cost of goods
- Ensure responsible service of alcohol and full compliance with liquor licensing
- Maintain cleanliness, food safety and workplace health and safety standards
- Handle guest feedback and resolve issues on the spot
- Open and close the venue securely

Key Performance Indicators
- Sales performance: meeting or exceeding bar and food revenue targets
- Labour efficiency: running shifts within budgeted labour cost
- Cost control: stock, wastage and cost of goods kept within target
- Guest satisfaction: maintaining and improving venue and service review scores
- Cash accuracy: clean till reconciliation with minimal variances
- Compliance: full adherence to RSA and liquor licensing requirements
- Team performance: attendance, retention and shift standards
- Health and safety: zero avoidable incidents and full WHS and food safety compliance





Essential Requirements (MUST)
- Fluent English — clear spoken and written communication with guests and team
- Previous experience in a bar, restaurant, pub or hospitality venue, with supervisory or duty manager experience preferred
- Current Queensland RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate
- Full working rights in Australia — you must hold a valid visa with permission to work
- Long-term commitment — we're looking for someone who wants to stay and grow with us
- Physically able to meet the demands of the role, with any medical or health conditions compatible with the physical requirements of the position (being on your feet across a shift, lifting and fast-paced service)

Nice to Have
- RMLV (Responsible Management of Licensed Venues) certificate, or willingness to obtain it
- Cocktail, coffee or food service experience
- Experience with POS and stock systems
- A network in the local hospitality or events scene
