The Company etrainu is an established leader in online learning design, development, delivery, and assessment, founded in Australia. We deliver custom solutions to organisations domestically and internationally, across a wide range of industries. Our customer-first approach is driving rapid growth in our SaaS products.

The Role

We are looking for an eLearning Content Writer to join our Studio team. You will create engaging, interactive and effective learning content built on real-life scenarios and compelling narrative.

Our clients span many industries, so the subject matter changes from project to project. What stays constant is the craft: getting across an unfamiliar topic quickly, working accurately from the source material in front of you, and turning complex or highly regulated content into learning that participants complete and apply.

You will research and write learning materials for audiences ranging from frontline workers to senior leadership. We want someone with a deep understanding of instructional design and learning design principles, adult learning theory and industry best practice.

Someone who actively looks for faster and more efficient ways to work, without compromising quality or relevance.

Key Responsibilities

Content development. Write interactive eLearning material and supporting learning artefacts such as assessments, quizzes, knowledge checks, scenarios and video scripts. Ensure these materials align with the learning objectives of the subject matter and support high levels of learner engagement.

Structure and sequencing. Apply instructional design and learning design principles to the way you shape content. Write to clear learning objectives,

and chunk and sequence material so it builds logically. Use established templates and patterns so that strong structure is repeatable, and make sure all content meets sector and accessibility standards.

New subject-matter. Get up to speed on new industries, legislation and standards quickly, and write accurately to their requirements.

Collaboration. Work closely with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather information, validate content accuracy, and gain insights into target audiences.

Research and innovation. Stay up to date with the latest eLearning trends, emerging technologies, accessibility trends and instructional methodologies. Apply and share what works to enhance the quality and effectiveness of our programs.

Speed and efficiency. Work at pace and to deadline without compromising the integrity of the work.

Multimedia. Brief and support multimedia developers to bring your scripts to screen, meeting accessibility and sector requirements, and be present on the day for face-to-camera filming.

Content maintenance. Keep existing content relevant and current. Audit large content libraries at scale and update material affected by legislative, standards or industry changes.

Quality assurance. Review and edit content for accuracy, consistency and adherence to established standards,

and run thorough quality checks before delivery.

Task management. Deliver on multiple projects within agreed timelines. Work in the studio’s task management platform to keep your own work planned, visible and current.

Required skills

Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail.

Proven experience researching and writing learning content across a range of subject areas, and the ability to become credible in a current one quickly.

Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design and learning design principles, and learning technologies.

Experience in finding more efficient ways to work, with sound judgement about where new tools and shortcuts help.

Strong task management skills, including the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.

Proven ability to take initiative and drive results.

Nice to have

Experience writing for regulated or compliance-driven sectors, such as health and community services, aged care, disability, construction, government, or sport and recreation.

Knowledge of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles.

Experience building reusable prompts, templates or workflows that measurably lifted a team’s output.

Applying A portfolio of previous eLearning projects and writing samples alongside your application will be highly advantageous.

The eLearning Content Writer plays a critical role in shaping the learning experience for professionals across every sector we serve. The successful candidate will be curious, creative and efficient, with a real passion for building better communities through meaningful learning experiences.
