About the role

Derwent Electrical is seeking a skilled and dedicated Electrician to join our growing team in Hobart, Tasmania. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on diverse electrical projects across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors. As an Electrician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs that meet industry standards and exceed customer expectations.

This role is based in Hobart TAS 7000 and will see you working both on-site and in the field, collaborating with experienced tradespeople and contributing to the continued success of Derwent Electrical.

What you'll be doing

- Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial properties
- Reading and interpreting electrical plans and technical specifications
- Conducting electrical inspections and testing to ensure compliance with Australian electrical standards and safety regulations
- Troubleshooting electrical faults and providing effective solutions
- Installing and maintaining switchboards, wiring, lighting, and power distribution systems
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in accordance with the National Electrical Code and relevant legislation
- Communicating effectively with clients, project managers, and team members to ensure project success
- Maintaining accurate records and documentation of work completed

What we're looking for

- A full electrical license recognized in Tasmania
- Proven experience working as an Electrician, ideally with exposure to varied project types
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory, safety regulations, and the National Electrical Code
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently




- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A valid manual driver's license.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent formal training
