We are seeking a motivated and passionate leader to support our exceptional ECC nursing team at our hospital based out of Tuggerah on the Central Coast. This is an exciting prospect to combine your clinical expertise with leadership development, working alongside Emergency and Critical Care Veterinarians and Specialists in a collaborative, progressive, and supportive environment[SK1] .
This is a shared leadership role partnering with an established and highly experienced Emergency and Critical Care Nurse Team Leader. Following significant growth within our ECC team over the past 12 months, we are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced nurse to step into a joint Emergency and Critical Care Team Leader position!
Working closely with the Nurse Manager and fellow Team Leader, you will play a key role in supporting and developing our nursing team through:
- 1:1 mentoring, coaching and on the job training
- Regular Performance and Growth discussions for our nursing team with 4 catchups each year and a yearly review system
- Rostering and workforce planning
- Provide ongoing education to the nursing team
This position will require the ability to work nights, weekends and a rotating shift roster as needed to support a 24/7 ECC Nursing Team.
- Use and teach your skills in a fast-paced Emergency & Referral ICU, working alongside two Critical Care Specialists, highly experienced ECC vets and an experienced multidisciplinary team.
- Provide support for all medical procedures on critical care patients for the day or night
- Plan and perform anaesthesia for unstable or critically ill patients
- Work with advanced critical care instrumentation; including arterial lines, central venous lines and advanced patient monitoring equipment.
- Work directly with industry-leading specialists across ECC and additional referral disciplines including; Surgery, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Oncology, Dermatology and a Sports Science Rehab.
- Access a fully stocked 24/7 blood bank, with a variety of canine and feline blood products available for emergency and critical care patients.
- Be part of a highly skilled and supportive nursing team where nurses are encouraged to think critically and advocate for their patients.

Who are we looking for:
- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar emergency, referral or after-hours care environment
- Experience in a leadership or senior position overseeing a team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and effectively balance competing demands in a professional manner
- Demonstrated experience problem solving and the ability to manager competing priorities.
