Aurora ARC Wind is seeking experienced Electricians and Mechanical Technicians to join our specialist team delivering Main Component Upgrade (MCU) and major corrective maintenance works across wind farms in Australia.
This is a site-based role operating on a 3 weeks on, 1 week off (3:1) roster, offering the opportunity to work across Australian wind farm projects while developing specialist expertise in major wind turbine maintenance.
Working as part of an experienced site team, you will be involved in major turbine maintenance activities including gearbox, generator and main bearing exchanges, heavy-lift operations, complex fault finding and turbine repairs.
The Role
As an MCU Technician, you will work alongside experienced technicians, supervisors and lifting teams to safely execute major component exchanges and corrective maintenance on operating wind turbines.
Your work may include:
- Main component exchanges, including gearboxes, generators and main bearings
- Major corrective maintenance and complex turbine repairs
- Electrical and mechanical fault finding
- Hydraulic system troubleshooting and repairs
- Wind turbine troubleshooting, inspections and condition assessments
- Heavy-lift and crane-supported maintenance activities
- Preparation, isolation and reinstatement of turbine systems
- Completion of maintenance documentation, technical reports and site records
- Working closely with site teams, supervisors and other specialist trades
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with site procedures, SWMS/JSA, isolation requirements and applicable safety standards
About You
We are looking for experienced tradespeople who are technically capable, safety focused and comfortable working in demanding site environments.
You will ideally hold either:
Electrical:
A recognised electrical trade qualification and current Australian Electrical Licence, with good mechanical aptitude;
or
Mechanical: A recognised mechanical trade qualification with strong mechanical maintenance experience and good electrical aptitude.
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in:
- Wind turbine maintenance, major component exchange or heavy corrective maintenance
- Industrial maintenance, mining, power generation, utilities or other heavy industries
- Electrical and/or mechanical fault finding
- Hydraulic systems and troubleshooting
- Heavy machinery, rotating equipment or large mechanical assemblies
- Crane-supported maintenance and heavy-lift activities
- Working safely at heights and in remote site environments
Previous wind industry or MCU experience is highly regarded, but candidates with strong transferable experience from other heavy industries are also encouraged to apply.

- A recognised Electrical or Mechanical trade qualification
- Current Australian Electrical Licence for electrical applicants
- Strong technical fault-finding and problem-solving capability
- A high level of safety awareness and commitment to quality workmanship
- Confidence working at heights and performing physically demanding work
- The ability to work effectively as part of a site-based team
- Flexibility to travel and work across wind farm locations
- A current unrestricted driver’s licence
- Valid Australian working rights
