About the role

This is a hands-on role supporting the comfort, safety, and wellbeing of residents through high-quality cleaning, laundry and kitchen services. The role is suited to someone who enjoys working in a supportive team setting and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming home for elderly residents.

The role requires the applicant to be flexible to work across all three program areas as required. St Nicholas is a Greek specific aged care home, ability to speak and/or understand Greek preferred but not essential.

Key responsibilities:

Cleaning:

- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards across resident rooms, bathrooms, dining areas, and common spaces
- Perform daily cleaning tasks including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, waste removal, and sanitising surfaces
- Follow infection control and workplace health & safety procedures
- Replenish cleaning supplies and report maintenance or safety concerns

Kitchenhand:

- Assist with meal preparation and food plating
- Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and dining areas
- Support food safety and hygiene compliance
- Assist with meal service to residents as required

Laundry:





- Washing, drying, sorting, folding, labeling and delivery of resident clothing, and general linen management within the service

About you

- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or within a team
- Respectful and compassionate when interacting with elderly residents
- Previous experience in cleaning, hospitality, aged care, or kitchen work is essential
- Ability to follow procedures and maintain high hygiene standards
- Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current flu vaccination (and other vaccinations as required)
- Full working rights in Australia
- Availability to work flexible shifts mainly week days, must be available weekends and public holidays if required
