Equity Analyst – Politis Investment Strategies The Company and Team

With deep local roots and a long-standing reputation for trust, quality, and performance, the Politis team brings together experienced professionals who share a passion for financial markets and disciplined investment research. The team today manage over $1 billion in Funds Under Management.

This role is based in Newcastle, NSW and reports to the Chief Investment Officer. You will work closely with the Portfolio Manager as part of a collaborative and entrepreneurial team.

About the Role

As an Equity Analyst at Politis Investment Strategies, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth sector and company research and generating well-supported investment recommendations. You will actively participate in team discussions, present your views confidently, and contribute to the decision-making process around portfolio construction.

The role provides exposure to a diverse range of Australian equities, with opportunities to broaden sector coverage and work directly with senior investment professionals.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience covering Australian equities—whether in funds management, broking, consulting, corporate development, or banking—and bring a strong mix of intellectual curiosity, integrity, and financial acumen. You will be proactive, detail-oriented,



and passionate about markets, with the ability to communicate clearly and build strong relationships with colleagues, company management, and clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Conducting fundamental and Qualitative analysis of companies to provide investment recommendations

- Participating in the peer-review process for internal investment research

- Engaging with company management teams, internal staff, and sell side analysts

- Presenting investment ideas with clarity and confidence to stakeholders

- Writing high-quality investment commentaries

- Demonstrating a strong ethical approach to financial market dealings

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

- 5+ years of relevant analyst experience

- Background in asset management, equity research, or broking advantageous

- Degree qualified in finance, economics, accounting, or a related discipline (CFA designation desirable)

- Solid analytical capabilities and experience in Qualitative research

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Self-reliant, resourceful, and proactive, while being a strong team player

- High standards of integrity, ethics, and attention to detail

- Intellectual curiosity and independence of thought

- Ability to manage competing priorities effectively

- Familiarity with tools such as FactSet and IRESS desirable
