Neighbourhood Watch Australasia (NHWA) is an established crime prevention charity working across Australia and New Zealand. Our vision is to create safer, more connected and inclusive communities.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organised and capable person to join our small, dedicated team.
This is a varied role providing direct support to our CEO, while also offering the opportunity to contribute to a range of projects and initiatives across the organisation. You’ll help keep priorities and day-to-day activities on track, while also supporting project delivery from planning through to completion.
You’ll need to be organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities, while maintaining a high standard of work. Working closely with our CEO, you’ll engage with a range of stakeholders and will need to demonstrate professionalism, sound judgement, discretion and confidentiality.
What you’ll be doing
Your responsibilities will include
- Providing executive support to the CEO and, on occasion, the Board
- Supporting the CEO and team with project planning and delivery, ongoing initiatives and ad hoc tasks
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of federally funded grant applications and coordinating the delivery of successful grants
- Supporting the day-to-day operations of a small national organisation
- Planning and facilitating in-person and online events, including webinars
- Preparing, editing and proofreading reports, correspondence and other documentation
- Managing databases and maintaining accurate records
- Communicating with the Board, members, stakeholders and partners
- Supporting marketing, communications and social media planning and activities
- Undertaking general administrative and office duties as required
What we’re looking for Core Experience & Skills
- Experience in office administration, PA or EA support
- Highly organised, reliable and committed to delivering high-quality work
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Comfortable learning new systems and processes
- Able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work well under pressure
- Willing to take responsibility, ask questions when needed and see tasks through to completion
The following will be highly regarded – but not essential:
- Qualifications or experience in project management, criminology, community services,
communications
- Project-based administrative support
- Not-for-profit sector administration experience
- Research or grant writing experience
- Meta Business Suite and social media scheduling experience
- Experience with Mailchimp, Canva, ClickUp
- Experience using AI for research and productivity
