The Opportunity
Airbus Australia Pacific is seeking an experienced, strategic, and results-driven Facilities Manager Australia to take overall ownership of Facilities Management (FM) across our nationwide Australian site portfolio.
Reporting directly to the Manager Workplace, you will coordinate national workplace activities and manage external service partners to drive consistent, high-quality service delivery across all sites. In this role, you will be responsible for optimising financial performance, executing site improvement plans, ensuring strict safety and regulatory compliance, and driving operational sustainability initiatives-including local High-Five Plus programs and CO2 reduction targets.
Additionally, you will provide strategic advice on project management, leasing administration, and site acquisitions while supporting core processes such as the Real Estate Master Plan.
This will include
- Driving the end-to-end delivery of all FM services across Australian sites to guarantee operational consistency and service excellence.
- Developing, implementing, and maintaining planned preventative maintenance programs utilising digital Maintenance Management Systems and performance dashboards.
- Managing national FM operational and capital budgets, forecasting financial risks/opportunities, tracking variance, and approving monthly vendor invoices.
- Leading contractor selection, scope preparation, contract negotiations, WHS compliance verification, and tracking performance against KPIs to deliver Whole of Life (WOL) value.
- Supporting leasing administration, property management, project execution, and new premises acquisitions across Australia in alignment with the Property Master Plan.
- Directing, mentoring, and inspiring a high-performing nationwide team to achieve strategic goals and foster continuous improvement.
- Documenting and mitigating operational, safety, security,
and legislative risks in accordance with WHS legislation, AAP policies, and Defence security requirements.
- Implementing local High-Five Plus initiatives, optimising energy/resource efficiency, and delivering accurate monthly utility and CO2 reports.
- Serving as the single point of contact for Site Managers, internal business units, and external authorities while aligning outcomes with Airbus Top Company Objectives (TCOs).
About You
NV1 Security Clearance is required.
This role requires a strategic leader who aligns daily operations with Airbus goals through strict governance and budget oversight. Key Qualifications & Experience
- Advanced Diploma in Facility Management (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum 5 years of facilities management experience within a complex property, corporate real estate, or industrial environment.
- Demonstrated background in delivering integrated Property, Facilities, Project, and Financial Management services.
- Hands-on experience using digital Maintenance Management Systems and dashboard reporting tools.
- Proven track record of managing and leading a geographically dispersed team.
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation, QA frameworks, commercial contracts, and budget management.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Asset Management, or Facility/Property Management - Desirable.
