JS Careers are partnering with a leading investment bank for a hands-on engineering role. This role is responsible for shaping architecture, delivery, and technical leadership while continuing to write production code across an evolving management platform.

The ideal candidate has strong full-stack engineering credentials and is looking to step into a role that blends technical leadership with influence over platform direction.

The role: n

You'll balance technical contribution with architectural leadership on a business-critical operations platform, acting as Lead across complex, cross-functional initiatives.

You'll be responsible for: n

n
- Providing end-to-end technical leadership across frontend (Angular) and backend (Java/Spring Boot) domains.
n
- Leading solution architecture activities and guiding engineering teams.
n
- Mentoring engineers and uplifting technical capability across the team.
n
- AI-assisted software engineering and embedding AI-enabled practices into day-to-day delivery.
n





What we're looking for: nn
- Strong full-stack engineering experience across Java 17+, Spring Boot and Angular.
n
- Solid understanding of modern front-end architecture.
n
- Experience designing and evolving service-oriented and microservices architectures.
n
- Experience leading solution architecture activities and driving architecture decisions for complex, large-scale systems.
n
- Proven experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code, Copilot or Gemini CLI.
n
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and business outcomes.
n
- AWS architecture experience and exposure to Kafka or event-driven architectures is highly regarded.
n
- Candidates with Australian working rights are strongly preferred.
n
- Experience in financial services is strongly preferred.
