Program Overview

This immersive two day a week, three-month internship program will give you valuable financial services industry experience. Interns will receive training from industry experts, mentorship from members of the executive team and be paid to learn in our current state-of-the-art Sydney headquarters featuring an indoor cricket pitch, yoga room, and golf simulator.

The program is split into four specialist streams:

1. Finance & Accounting

2. Compliance

3. Technology

4. Risk

What does the Finance & Accounting team do?

The Finance team is responsible for the oversight of all financial processes and transactions. This includes management of the month end close process, monthly reporting and journal close, preparation and review of balance sheet and reconciliations, supervision of the daily P&L; and ASIC reporting, preparation of annual financial statements, and assisting HR with the payroll process. The Finance team is also involved in the budget and forecast process for the management team.

In addition, Finance ensures compliance with financial legislation and standards, and monitors, reviews and evaluates budgetary and accounting strategies, policies and plans in consultation with other managers.

What does the Compliance team do?

Compliance leads the legal & compliance functions of 26 Degrees, ensuring the company fulfills its legal and regulatory obligations in providing financial services. This includes coordinating staff training and CPD programs, producing compliance reports and aiding internal and external auditors. The Compliance team overseas the business unit, establishing a commitment to building a strong internal supervisory function.

In addition, Compliance advises and assists the executive team on legal and regulatory matters pertaining to existing and new business lines.

What does the Technology team do?

At the core of 26 Degrees’ market interactions, the Technology team plays a pivotal role by controlling the business applications and data pipelines. These integral elements provide sophisticated analytics,



vigilant risk monitoring, and robust reporting engines, collectively steering data-driven decision-making. In addition, technology takes on the responsibility of refining day-to-day operations through precise process and system automation.

This allows the 26 Degrees team to channel their efforts into perpetual product evolution and advancement.

What does the Risk team do?

The Risk team has responsibility for the anticipation, identification, measurement, monitoring, control and reporting of all risks to which the company may be exposed. This includes designing procedures to prevent re-occurrences of limit breaches, monitoring the implementation of changes to the company’s technologies, services and/ or activities in order to ensure continued adherence to existing controls, and monitoring real-time systems for margin deficits, erroneous trades, significant new liquidation changes and other issues. In addition, Risk provides members of the Board of Directors with a regular comprehensive overview of the risks to which the institution is, or may be, exposed.

Eligibility

This elite internship is designed for the brightest, most driven students - regardless of discipline.

If you are going into your final year of university (graduating 2027) with an aptitude for mathematics, accounting, risk, compliance, engineering, and/or technology, we want to hear from you.

We don’t want cardboard cutouts – we want builders, strategists, analysts & superstars.

No experience is required - we will give you the knowledge, the access and the support you need to make the most of your unique talents.

Successful candidates will need to be able to work in the office on Tuesdays and Fridays.
