About the role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director and working closely with our German headquarters and National Sales Manager, you will take full ownership of the finance function while contributing to broader business operations and strategic decision-making.
As the sole finance professional in the Australian business, you will be involved in everything from month-end reporting and budgeting through to process improvement, business analysis, systems optimization, and supporting management decisions.
This is a role suited to someone who enjoys autonomy, accountability, and variety.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Manage all accounting and finance activities for the Australian business
- Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Drive budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Ensure compliance with Australian accounting, taxation, and regulatory requirements
- Coordinate year-end audit requirements and statutory reporting
- Liaise with our German headquarters on financial reporting and business performance
Business Partnering
- Partner with the Managing Director and National Sales Manager to support strategic decision-making
- Provide commercial insights and performance analysis
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency
- Support planning, business reviews, and growth initiatives
Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive continuous process improvement and automation initiatives
- Enhance reporting capabilities across the organization
- Develop meaningful dashboards and management reports
- Improve data quality, visibility, and business intelligence capabilities
- Prepare the business for SAP - Integration with HQ - Systems
Payroll & Administration
- Oversee payroll processes using Employment Hero Payroll
- Ensure payroll compliance and accuracy
- Support HR administration and employment-related reporting as required
About You
You are likely a CPA-qualified Financial Accountant or Senior Financial Accountant who is ready to step into a broader leadership role.
You enjoy being hands-on, have strong technical accounting capabilities, and are excited by the opportunity to influence the direction of a business.
You will bring
Essential
- CPA or CA qualification
- 5 years' experience in accounting and finance roles
- Strong financial accounting and management reporting skills
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills and report writing skills ( Crystal R. SQL, PBI)
- Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities
- Experience managing month-end and year-end processes
- A proactive, self-sufficient, and accountable working style
Highly Regarded
- Experience with SAP Business One
- Power BI and/or Microsoft Fabric experience
- Proven success in process optimization and business automation
- Exposure to international or multinational organizations
- Experience working as a standalone finance professional
- Payroll knowledge and experience with Employment Hero Payroll
