Your new prospect
We are seeking a Finance Support Officer to join our Melbourne office. This role is ideal for a highly organised and detail-oriented individual looking to build or further develop their career in finance and administration within a professional consulting environment.
Working closely with the Accounts Manager, Melbourne leadership team and project consultants, you will be responsible for supporting day-to-day financial operations, project administration and office functions. The role offers a varied workload across accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, client liaison and project support, making it a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys both finance and administration responsibilities.
What you’ll bring
- Experience in accounts, finance support, administration or project coordination roles
- Strong knowledge of invoicing, accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchase order processes
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence communicating with clients,
suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Microsoft Office skills, advanced Excel experience preferred
- Experience with Deltek Vision, Bluebeam or similar business systems is highly regarded
- Experience within construction, consulting, architecture or building compliance industries will be advantageous
What you’ll be doing
As our Finance Support Officer, you will:
- Process and code supplier invoices
- Maintain supplier records and verify banking and supporting documentation
- Process supplier payments and respond to supplier enquiries
- Complete credit card reconciliations and employee expense claims
- Generate and issue client invoices accurately and on time
- Upload invoices to client portals including Aconex, PayApps and iTWOcx
- Verify purchase orders, billing entities and project coding requirements
- Investigate and resolve invoicing and payment queries
- Prepare client statements and support debt collection activities
- Assist with project reconciliations and monthly reporting
- Manage incoming enquiries and direct requests to the appropriate team members
- Support project administration, document control and office administration functions
- Maintain internal systems, databases and financial records
- Provide support to the Accounts Manager and Melbourne leadership team as required
