We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the MG Motor Australia on a 4****-month fixed-term contract to provide parental leave cover.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will support key day-to-day finance activities across month-end, general ledger reconciliations, financial reporting and AP/AR. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who can quickly become familiar with the business, work independently and deliver accurate results within tight reporting deadlines.

What you will be doing

- Support accounts payable and receivable activities, including invoice processing, payments, reconciliations and credit control.
- Prepare and post journals and complete general ledger reconciliations.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities and ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.




- Assist with financial analysis and submission of financial information to headquarters.
- Support preparation of consolidated financial statements and group elimination journals.
- Assist with internal and external audit requirements and supporting documentation.
- Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies and outstanding items.
- Support finance process improvements and maintain accurate process documentation.

What we are looking for

- Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
- 3–5 years’ relevant accounting experience in commercial finance and/or skilled practice.
- Strong experience in month-end, journals, reconciliations and financial reporting, with exposure to AP/AR.
- CPA qualification is highly regarded.
- SAP/ERP and strong Excel skills desirable.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines independently.
- Collaborative communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
