About the role The Financial Accountant supports the accurate and timely delivery of the Group's day-to-day finance operations, cash reporting, compliance obligations and financial close. The role works closely with the Group Company Accountant and the wider finance team across multiple business entities and reports to the Head of Finance.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare fortnightly payroll accurately and on time, including the related reconciliations and finance records.

- Manage accounts payable, weekly supplier payments and supplier statement reconciliations.

- Raise monthly sales invoices in MYOB/ XERO and follow up outstanding information or discrepancies.

- Reconcile bank accounts and corporate credit card statements promptly and investigate reconciling items.

- Prepare and lodge monthly and quarterly business activity statements as required.

- Support month-end and year-end close across multiple entities, including journals, reconciliations and supporting schedules.

- Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements, statutory accounts and external audit requests.

- Assist in the preparation of monthly cash flow reports and forecasts.

- Respond to finance queries by gathering, checking and interpreting relevant financial data.

- Maintain complete finance records and support improvements to finance processes, systems and internal controls.

About you

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.





- At least three years of practical accounting experience in a comparable role.

- Demonstrated experience with MYOB and Xero.

- Practical experience in payroll, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, BAS preparation and month-end close.

- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using Word and Outlook.

- Sound analytical and problem solving skills, with the judgement to investigate issues and propose solutions.

- Clear written and verbal communication skills.

- Strong organisation and time management, with the ability to manage competing deadlines.

- High attention to detail and the ability to work independently while contributing to a small team.

- Demonstrated integrity, discretion and sound judgement when handling confidential information.
