Alepat Taylor is a proud family owned bottling and canning company located in Preston. Operating since 1978, we specialise in manufacturing and the distribution of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

Due to continued growth we are seeking a Maintenance Fitter reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role will play a key part in our maintenance team supporting operational excellence.

The role is critical to ensuring plant reliability, maximising equipment uptime, and supporting production teams to consistently meet performance, safety, and quality targets. As a key member of the maintenance team, you’ll be hands‑on with fault finding, repairs, preventative maintenance, and the commissioning of new and upgraded equipment, while also contributing to continuous improvement in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

· Respond to plant breakdowns and perform maintenance and repair minimising production downtime

· Carry out preventative maintenance, inspections, upgrades, and modifications across high‑speed manufacturing equipment

· Support plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives

· Work closely with production and manufacturing teams to troubleshoot issues

· Coordinate and work alongside internal maintenance teams and external contractors to deliver maintenance and project outcomes





· Train and support manufacturing and production team in the safe and correct operation of plant and equipment

· Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs efficiently

· Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs

· Identify potential equipment issues and recommend improvements to prevent future breakdowns

· Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop and work area

Skills & Experience

Ideally to be successful in the role you will have:

- Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting, Fitting & Turning, or a related field

- 2-5 years experience in maintenance and commissioning within a high‑speed manufacturing environment

- Experience in Beverage and Canning industry

- Robust fault‑finding and problem‑solving capability across mechanical plant and equipment

- Sound knowledge of GMP, HACCP, quality and food safety standards, and industrial safety requirements

- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and external suppliers

- Flexibility to work overtime and on standby as required
