We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fitter & Turner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, repairing, and machining mechanical components and equipment. This role requires strong mechanical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely both independently and as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
- Assemble, install, maintain, and repair machinery and mechanical equipment.
- Operate lathes, milling machines, drills, grinders, and other workshop machinery.
- Perform turning, fitting, machining, drilling, and fabrication work.
- Measure and inspect components using precision measuring equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs and adjustments.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment.
- Dismantle and reassemble mechanical components and machinery.
- Ensure all work meets required quality and engineering standards.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and company policies.
- Complete maintenance records, job sheets, and other required documentation.
Essential Skills & Requirements
- Relevant trade qualification such as Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a Fitter & Turner, Mechanical Fitter, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment, machinery, and workshop practices.
- Competent in operating manual lathes, milling machines, and other machining equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Strong knowledge of precision measuring tools.
- Valuable mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Good understanding of Australian workplace health and safety requirements.
Desirable
- Experience with CNC machinery.
- Welding and fabrication skills.
- Hydraulic and pneumatic experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, engineering, mining, or industrial environments.
- Current driver's licence.

Pay: $35.00 – $38.00 per hour
Expected hours: 38.0 per week
