FOH Team Member / Wine Waiter

About de'sendent de'sendent is a sophisticated, experience-driven restaurant focused on exceptional food, thoughtful hospitality and a strong sense of place. We were recently awarded Restaurant of the Year – Western Australia by Gourmet Traveller, and we care deeply about what we do and how we do it.

We are looking for a Front of House team member with a solid interest in wine to join our small team.

This role is about more than simply taking orders. We are looking for someone who understands what good hospitality looks like, appreciates the detail and care that goes into fine dining, and genuinely wants to be part of creating a great experience for our guests.

The Role

- Deliver warm, polished and attentive service throughout dinner.
- Develop your knowledge of our food, wine and the philosophy behind the restaurant.
- Engage confidently with guests and contribute to an excellent dining experience.
- Work with an interesting and constantly evolving wine list featuring both local and international wines.
- Assist with wine service and recommendations.

Wine knowledge is highly desirable, but it is not the be-all and end-all. A genuine passion for hospitality, a willingness to learn and an understanding of fine dining are just as important.



This could also suit someone who works during the day at a winery or cellar door and is looking for evening work in a high-level restaurant environment.

- Previous experience in a quality restaurant or fine dining environment.
- A good foundation of wine knowledge and a genuine interest in learning more.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- An understanding of what constitutes great hospitality.
- Attention to detail and a professional, positive attitude.
- Someone who takes pride in their work and wants to contribute to a small, passionate team.

Hours & Opportunity The position will initially be approximately 20–25 hours per week, primarily evening shifts. Most shifts will start around 3pm, although we can be flexible with start times, with 5pm starts possible for the right candidate.

There is potential for the role to develop into full-time hours over time for the right person, although this would not be immediate.
