Finished school and keen to start a career in hospitality? We’re looking for a reliable, enthusiastic kitchen hand to join our busy café team.
No previous kitchen experience required — training provided. School leavers are encouraged to apply.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll learn how a commercial kitchen operates, support our chefs and build practical skills. It’s a great starting point for someone interested in a future as a cook or chef.
Your day will include
- Washing dishes and keeping kitchen equipment clean.
- Helping with basic food preparation.
- Keeping benches, floors and storage areas clean and organised.
- Unpacking deliveries and putting stock away.
- Supporting the kitchen team during busy breakfast and lunch service.
- Learning safe food handling and kitchen procedures.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Turns up on time and is ready to get involved.
- Listens, follows instructions and enjoys learning.
- Works well with others and takes pride in doing a job properly.
- Is comfortable with an active role in a busy kitchen.
- Is available for early starts and rostered weekend shifts.
We offer full-time employment, daytime café hours, training and support from our kitchen team, and the opportunity to build your skills as you gain experience. Pay is in line with the applicable award, plus superannuation and applicable penalty rates. Pay: $26.44 – $44.94 per hour
Expected hours: 38.0 per week
