The Prospect

Funds SA is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Fund Accountant to join our team and play a key role in supporting investment operations.

This position offers the opportunity to work with critical financial systems and processes while driving innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the team. In this dynamic role, you will engage with complex investment activities, ensuring the seamless execution of daily operations while contributing to strategic initiatives that shape the future of our organisation.

Your Responsibilities

As a Fund Accountant at Funds SA, your key responsibilities will include:

- Preparing and reviewing daily and monthly reconciliations to ensure financial data is accurate, consistent, and reliable across systems.
- Leading the development and refinement of robust processes that enhance efficiency and reliability over time.
- Identifying discrepancies and collaborating with internal teams, clients, and external providers to resolve issues promptly.




- Maintaining and updating account setups, static data, and implementing structural changes to support smooth operational workflows.
- Managing cash settlements, accounting entries, and tax transactions while ensuring efficient processing with custodians.
- Preparing accounting calculations, tax workings, and providing valuable insights to support informed decision-making.
- Creating and reviewing investment expense reports, regulatory disclosures, financial statements, client reports, and other key deliverables.

What You Will Bring To excel in this role, you will bring:

- A completed university degree in Accounting, Finance or a related business discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in accounting or finance, ideally within an investment-related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and analyse complex financial data.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey insights and collaborate with stakeholders.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently while thriving in a collaborative team environment.
- A methodical approach with excellent attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
